Please join us in welcoming JT Strickland to the Sales & Marketing team as the newest Business Development Representative!
JT joins us as a recent graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts in English – Creative Writing, and also has experience in the service industry having done everything from waiting tables to management.
In his role here at Teslar, JT will work with our outbound sales team to introduce community financial institutions across the nation to Teslar’s community banking solutions.
We chatted with JT and asked him a few “getting to know you” questions to help us get better acquainted:
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
I can’t name one specifically, but compliments on my fiction projects are my favorite to receive. The process of creating a world, fleshing it out, and filling it with characters that have their own lived experiences forces you to put a lot of yourself and your ideas on the page. Hearing that someone enjoyed it or wants more of it is a special feeling that makes the vulnerability worth it.
What’s your favorite holiday?
Does Halloween count? I love the silly, spooky atmosphere that goes around and enjoy good scary movies and bad scary movies alike. You won’t catch me dead in a haunted house though – totally different ballgame. Thanksgiving is a close second – it’s a great reason to connect with friends and family and every dish serves as a perfect excuse to eat more gravy.
If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?
Saying Safari feels like cheating but it’s too versatile to pass up, and what else am I going to use to cherry-pick stats that make the Hogs look better than we are? Spotify is a keeper for music and podcasts to keep traffic from boring me to death, and finally the app formerly known as Twitter to keep up to date on sports/music/news.
What fictional place would you most like to visit?
Middle Earth (after the War of the Ring). The Shire has to be the last stop on the tour though, the whole place looks so cozy that I’d just get stuck there Hotel California style and never see anywhere else.
We are excited to have JT on the Teslar team!
